Overview
The Dining Hall and Servery extension was required as a consequence of the school’s expansion. Construction was undertaken with the school in continuous full occupation with no downtime of existing Kitchen and Dining facilities. The project was delivered to a tight programme to allow adjacent spaces to be used for national exams.
The Dining Hall faces north and overlooks the playing fields. The height of the building maximises the available north light and offers panoramic views of the Thames Estuary. The internal layout was deigned to offer a variety of dining experiences and options for social interaction. Large rooflights allow daylight to penetrate the depth of the space.
